Ten arrows. Ten levels. A cold beer at the end of every one.

You are an archer with a quiver of ten and nothing else. No ammo drops, no reload timer, no upgrade screen. Ten arrows is not a starting loadout, it is the whole rule, and it is the same rule in all ten levels.

THE RULE

Hold the button to draw the bow. The longer the draw, the further the arrow flies. The archer stands still while drawing, so every shot is also a decision about where you will be standing when it lands. A tap does not fire: the draw has to pass a minimum before the string will let go.

NO REFILLS

A missed arrow is not gone. It sticks into walls, into dirt and into corpses, and it comes back the moment you walk over it. When the quiver runs low, the arrows lying around the arena start to glint so you can find them.

THE RING

There is almost no interface. Around the mug stands a ring of unlit braziers, exactly one per enemy in the arena. Every kill lights one, each a little higher in pitch than the last, and the mug stays locked until the whole ring burns.

THE ARENA PUSHES BACK

Enemy archers do not spot you instantly. They build awareness while you are in their line of sight, go curious, then go hunting, and a hunting archer shouts, which pushes awareness into the others, so one careless shot can wake a whole courtyard.

THE THEME

Take 10, celebrate, level up: all three, not one.

  • TAKE 10. The number is the rule, twice: ten arrows in the quiver with no eleventh, and ten levels.
  • CELEBRATE. Clear the room and the ring lights, the mug unlocks, and the archer walks over and drinks it.
  • LEVEL UP. The level you just finished, raises up towards the new one, more challenges each level.

Ten levels, ten mugs, ten level-ups.

What an excellent game! From the animations to the music and transitions, it's really polished and fun to play. Definitely a contender to win!
